If you decide to implement this fix, it is under your responsibility ONLY.
The NAS QNAP TS-x51 and TS-x53 use an Intel processor having a bug, that can cause the NAS to not boot or cease to work.
There is a cheap and simple way to fix this issue, as discovered and explained by other persons such as "powerevolutions" on Youtube or others on the QNAP forum.
The fix consists to solder a 100 ohms resistor between Pin 1 and Pin 8 of a 10 pins black connector located on the motherboard.
I just put here a diagram because many people (like me !) do not clearly identify where these Pins 1 and 8 are located. The pins 2 and 10 are identified on the PCB, so I believe that I have correctly identified the pinout of the connector.
If you find an error in my diagram please inform me and I will correct it immediatly, just send an email to: threshold-loversATgmx.fr
The YouTube Video explaining the steps of the fx is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNKN55SFYos
I have implemented this fix and it works perfectly !
I have >15Tb of data that were not accessible because of this issue, that QNAP has not undertaken as a warranty issue: this has damaged the Qnap brand image, at least in my mind...
